Stephen Stone
Leadership from Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT) joined the Florida Association of Security Companies (FASCO) and River City Security Services February 11, 2014, to honor Security Supervisor Stephen Stone of River City Security Services with the 2013 John M. Russi Award.
Stone, a decorated Army veteran with five Army Commendation Medals, among other honors, was presented a plaque and $500 check by FASCO Board Secretary Ann Freeman and John Freeman of River City Security.
JAXPORT’s Chief Operating Officer Chris Kauffmann opened the ceremony and many of JAXPORT’s security staff, including Director of Security Charles White, attended.
"Our contracted security officers play a huge role in the safe and efficient management of port operations, and we are honored to have such a dedicated and exemplary officer working at our cruise terminal," Kauffmann said.
Stone credited his fellow security officers from River City Security for being instrumental in his success. “I read about this award and its history, and I am honored to have been selected,” Stone said. “This award is for all of the officers who work with me.”
Division of Licensing Director Grea Bevis and Jacksonville Regional Manager William “Terry” Weaver attended the ceremony and were given a tour of JAXPORT’s Security Operations Center after the presentation.
